But today, all of that will change.
For the first time in my entire life, I can truly say that I am proud to be an American - that I love my country. I feel something today that I have never felt before, and it's a fizzy cocktail of pride and joy, but above all I feel hope - hope and the belief that this is the only country in the world where anything can happen. Where anyone can make a difference. Where anyone can change the world. America has just made history. We have come together for a common cause, and I truly believe that President Barack Obama will be the glue that keeps us together. Because we are one nation, one world, one voice. And yes, we can.
Always,

Hm, that's 2 of my favorite bloggers who liked Obama. I was happy too. :D I suppose we'll see the effects take place a few months or so after he takes office... I'll be waiting!
Remember September 12, 2001? The country was torn, lost, and angry - but we had the whole world on our side. Thankfully, we haven't had a tragedy like that happen again, but there haven't been many people on our side either.
Today, we've managed to make everyone American again.
It really was an amazing night. I was crying and hopeful and proud. As you so aptly put it, i was proud to be an american again. Wonderful post! Thank you for the beautiful pictures :)
i haven't felt so proud to be an american since 1993.
I love all the shots of people's reactions.
I am bursting with pride and happiness, and this morning as I walked into work and caught CNN on TV, it was the first time in forever that I was completely relieved, and hopeful for the future.
i have never commented before, but i have been reading your blog for some time. As an Australian, i have to say that the decision gave us a lot of hope too. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but i did get an excited text message from my mum when it became official :D I think we all really need some change right now. Your pictures really capture it. I feel Obama will do his best as president, i worry about all the expectations placed upon him, and i worry about the threats against him, but it's undeniable that his election into the white house is cause for a lot of rejoicing around the world.
It's a great feeling :)
I felt our country was united for those few minutes. I cried countless times during his acceptance speech and walked outside, breathing in the cold autumn air believing anything could be possible. I love Obama. Tired of hearing about the dog though.
YES! We DID!!
Bursting with pride, crying with hopefulness. Your pictures made me relive a night I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. I wish my grandmother - who couldn't vote until the year I was born- was around to see it. We've turned a page in our nations history - I pray, we write the next chapter well...
Thanks for sharing your blog!
